“Before We’re Free - Defileon”: 18 Years Of Age

In his final years of high school, Mark joined a band with fellow classmates and began writing songs as, both, a group and as individuals. After many weekly rehearsals and a full set of songs, Mark had his first ever “gig” at the Coogee Bowling Club. From there on, Defilieon went on to perform at many open mic nights, band competitions and popular music venues.

“Sixteen - Courage For Casper”: 20 Years Of Age

After Defileon, Mark set out to find his own sound. He began writing independently again and, after almost a year, a new band was formed: “Courage For Casper”. All songs in that time were written by Mark and put together with the band, who added their own personal flair to each song. Courage For Casper went on to play in some of Australia’s most iconic music venues, and even supported Channel 7’s featured band, Cartoon, at their first live performance.

“Caroline - Mark Tsangaris”: 22 Years Of Age

After Courage For Casper, Mark continued on as a solo act; writing acoustic songs and performing his older music acoustically. The following song, Caroline, was written in the last months of Courage For Casper and was written in his home studio. Currently, Mark writes both acoustic songs and orchestrations that are inspired by all things around him, from personal experiences to movies and games.
